A big problem in the migrant LGBT minority community is the issue of acceptance, shame, being excluded, denial and visibility. Religion and spirituality has a strong influence among the migrant communities and religion plays a significant role in the lives of migrant LGBT individuals. Migrant LGBT‘s express internal conflict between their homosexual desires and religious rhetoric that reinforces heterosexuality, leading to increased risk behavior. Religion has both positive and negative influences among the migrant LGBT individuals and it is proposed that they establish relationships with religious congregations and leaders in an attempt to address homophobia in the community and strengthen services for migrant LGBT people.

The Dialogue will focus on both the migrant religious community  and the migrant LGBT community. The Dialogue will address issues of  the acceptance of homosexuality, equality, intolerance, prejudice, discrimination, acceptance and social exclusion. It will focus on the African Christian community.
The African gay Youth Foundation will host the activity and is committed to improving acceptance and understanding of homosexuality in the migrant community.
